Map of Greensboro

Week 2 assignment:
We are required to get in groups of four, explore ideas and create a physical map of Greensboro.

IARC: 102 Presentation 1/17/14

Public art:
My city was Prague, which was pretty exciting since I knew nothing of the city. David Cerny was a very well known artist around the city, one of his well known pieces of art is in the bottom right: Cerny took a soviet tank and painted it pink as an apology to Bulgarians.
You can not mention Prague without mentioning the John Lennon wall. Beginning in the 1900s, the citizens of Prague were restricted by what they were allowed to speak about. So they began to paint the Beatles lyrics on the wall at night and during the day the government would paint over the wall. Every night people would come back and paint on the wall again; after countless times the government decided to stop painting over the expressive artwork. To this day the wall is still painted white for other people to add new painting if love and peace.
Here are some of the other posters done by my classmates.

First day back!

It's January 13, 2014 and I can't be more excited about this new semester. New start. New experiences. And hopefully many more stories to tell. I've have never been more excited to embark on this journey... I just hope I will be able to procrastinate just a little bit less this year and so forth. With that we have been assigned our very first project in the studio class IARC 102:
Over the next month we have been asked to collaborate with other majors and groups of students to come up with a design for the side of a building located in Glenwood. To begin our professors have given us random cities and we are to find at least 7 different examples in total of 2d, 3d and even one example of 4d public artwork. I was given Prague as my city and my next few steps are to find the pieces I wish to incorporate in a presentation we have been asked to give this coming Friday... Stay tuned to see what I end upcoming with
